The milk ofalmondit has very little to envy to the vaccine one. Compared to the latter, it has less protein, more sugar and a fat content halfway between whole milk and partially skimmed milk.
The low protein content makes it more similar to human milk and, for this reason, it constitutes a good addition to the baby's diet after the first year of age, especially in cases of milk intolerances or allergies. The nutritional aspect that correlates to a high risk of overweight and obesity in children up to 2 years of age, in fact, is an excessive amount of protein in the diet, which is often found in children breastfed with cow's milk.
Sugars are present and you can tell by the flavour. However, the carbohydrate content is also represented by starches. This leads to two advantages:
- the milk ofalmond is sweetnaturally and no sugar must be added;
- the presence of starches causes thisdrinkdoes not have a high glycemic index, therefore it is also suitable for diabetics.
Fats, unlike the saturated fats in cow's milk which influence the internal production of cholesterol, are mostly unsaturated (oleic acid), with a protective effect on the heart.
Continuing the comparison with cow's milk, that ofalmondit has an excellent content of bioavailable calcium, i.e. immediately usable, and phosphorus, fundamental minerals for bone calcification, the regulation of hormonal and nervous, muscular and gene transcription processes.
The milk ofalmondit contains a lot of magnesium, not so present in the vaccine one. Magnesium regulates the absorption of other nutrients such as calcium, vitamin D, phosphorus and potassium and is involved in cellular metabolic processes that promote the growth and maintenance of tissues, as well as the well-being of the cells themselves. Furthermore, it plays a key role in controlling the nervous system, together with potassium, also contained in milkalmond.
