What the tenth edition of the event promises, scheduled from 23 to 27 JulyGrottaglie, is a rich and varied program of high-level events around the culture of wine.
We start with a wine competition for the awarding of the "Wine and Music Award”. From 23 to 25 July, in the charming deconsecrated 16th century church ofAncient Capuchin Convent, the activities of the event will be dedicated to blind tasting: the event reserved for the comparison of wines produced from territorial vines with the aim of identifying the labels that best represent the typical characteristics of the grape variety they belong to. The technical commission, chaired by the tasterinternationalof wines,Enzo Scivettiwill taste the over 300 competing labels "blindly", evaluating their colour, taste and aroma and deciding on the winning wines for each type.
From 26 to 27 July the exhibition program officially opens inwineloversand visitors. A large open air wine shop, capable of combining street culture and high quality offerings to let yourself be won over by the wine excellences in an exciting and tempting itinerary to discover the art of figulina in the over 50 shops dug into the rock of Gravina San Giorgio.
The event, which over the years has already hosted over 150 wineries, 40 chefs, and 80 musical groups, on the occasion of its tenth anniversary will showcase the best wines and typical craftsmanship to create a unique and exclusive event. A real journey into the flavors and knowledge of Southern Italy, thanks to the presence of producers fromPuglia, Basilicata, Campania and Calabria.
Big news for the tenth year will be the presence of wine bars#Vinoandmusic. A place where it will be possible to taste the best productions of the companies: the flagship wines, the prestigious labels. The presence of the consortium for the protection of the most famous red wine in Puglia has already been confirmed: the Consortium for the Protection of Primitivo di Manduria which, with its members, will be present in the wine shop reserved for them. There is also space for natural wines with a "natural" wine shop where you can taste the wines of the producers who participated in the first edition of "Natural Evolution": the first fairPugliadedicated precisely to artisanal wines.
In addition to the tasting itineraries “on the road”, at Vino è Musica the panoramic terraces of the ceramists' workshops in Grottaglie will also come alive with a series of taste workshops held by AIS and Slow Wine speakers. Real multisensory experiences reserved for those who want to deepen their knowledge and skills in the technique of wine tasting. Bubbles from southern Italy, vines from Puglia, macerated wines and from the slowine guide, primitivo in all its nuances: these are some of the workshops scheduled. A unique opportunity to learn about Bacchus nectar in all its cultural and oenological aspects.
Great curiosity about the laboratory “IlPrimitive of Manduriabetween land and sea". A tasting, organized byConsortium for the Protection of Primitivo di Manduria, which will showcase the potential and versatility of Puglia's best-known red. A real olfactory journey in a territory linked to both the land and the sea where Primitivo assimilates the aromas and flavors of the different climatic connotations.
And if this wasn't enough, for the tenth edition the reviewWine is Musiccrosses national borders and, thanks to the collaboration with theConcours Mondial de Bruxelles, will take the five senses on an exciting journey around the globe to discover the flavours, aromas and colors of wines from native vines selected among those winners of the recent 26th edition of the CBM. Acting as Cicerone in this imaginary winetour:Enzo Scivetti, President of “Blind Tasting Wine is Music” and President of various international competitions, including the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles. Music will accompany the visitor in this explosion of colours, scents and flavors of the earth. Over 16 groups, located along the route, will amplify the multi-sensory journey with rock, pop, jazz and folk notes. And to celebrate the tenth anniversary, all the bands that have achieved great success among the public in previous editions will be "re-called together".
But it doesn't end here. The rich program of the tenth edition still promises great emotions.
In the two-day event open to the general public, theCeramics Districtit will be the "playing ground" of "Mondial Tornianti": the great challenge on the lathe, to shape objects and art forms resulting from talent and dexterity with hands and creativity. Expert craftsmen and ceramists from all over the world will meet atGrottagliefor the exciting competition created over 30 years ago in Faenza.
There will also be ceramic art exhibitions dedicated to wine, educational workshops aimed at young visitors inside the Museum of Ceramics, visits to the contemporary ceramic exhibition "MediTERRAneo" and over 50 artisan workshops to visit where the hands of masters make figurines, dye of earth and color, they have been modeling and painting for over five centuries.
In short, Vino è Musica is the unmissable event for all wine lovers who want to delve deeper into the world of wine by combining Mediterranean gastronomy proposed in a street-food perspective, history, art, music and culture.
