Bars Base
- 200 gr digestive biscuits or graham crackers
- 70 gr butter melted
- 120 gr peanut butter creamy or crunchy
Chocolate Layer
- 200 gr dark chocolate 55%-70% cacao
- 60 gr peanut butter creamy, divided into two portions
Prepare the base
Start by placing the digestive biscuits in a blender and pulse until finely ground. This will be the base of your bar.
Add the peanut butter and melted butter to the crushed biscuits. Blend until a uniform mixture forms that holds together.
Line a square baking pan (20x20 cm) with baking paper, ensuring the edges are higher to facilitate removal of the bars once set.
Pour the biscuit mixture into the pan and press with the back of a spoon to create a smooth, even surface.
Create the chocolate layer
In a double boiler, melt the dark chocolate and 30 g of peanut butter, stirring constantly until smooth.
Pour the melted chocolate over the biscuit base, leveling with a spatula.
Melt the remaining 30 g of peanut butter and dollop it onto the chocolate surface using teaspoons. Use a knife to create decorative swirls.
Place the pan in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours until bars are firm. Before serving, let them rest at room temperature for 10 minutes.
Recipe Variations
Chocolate peanut butter bars can be customized in many ways. Here are some ideas:
- Adding nuts: for a crunchy touch, you can add chopped nuts or hazelnuts to the base.
- Chocolate chips: for extra flavor, mix chocolate chips into the base before pouring the chocolate layer.
- Dried fruit: add raisins or cranberries for a sweet, fruity flavor.
- Chocolate variations: experiment with milk chocolate or white chocolate for different results.
