The uncertain situation linked to the Covid-19 pandemic that still characterizes Italy and particularly the South Tyrol region does not allow the organization of Merano WineFestival to confirm the dates of March 26-30, 2021 for the 29th edition of the event in person in Merano. However, the dates for the 30th edition scheduled from November 5 to 9, 2021 are confirmed.
“Even today the Covid-19 pandemic continues to show no signs of relief. Despite confidence in a return to normality in March in most Italian regions, in South Tyrol the high infection rate and the European Union’s decision to declare the Autonomous Province of Bolzano as a dark red zone forced the Provincial Government to take a drastic measure: a strict lockdown until February 28. These uncertainties do not give us the confidence or the security to be able to organize Merano WineFestival from March 26 to 30, 2021 and this is why, with great regret, we are forced to cancel its organization”.
With these words The WineHunter Helmuth Köcher announces the necessary cancellation of the March in-person event in Merano. However, alongside the regret for this announcement comes optimism directed to the organization of the 30th edition of the festival, from November 5 to 9, 2021, for which the dates are instead confirmed.
Positive are also the data derived from the experience of enhancing digital channels and the creation of the platform winehunterhub.com which have ensured important visibility through Merano WineFestival and Wine&Siena Digital. A new form of communication that has generated significant traffic on the official channels of The WineHunter and Merano WineFestival and towards which there is great interest and trust as a continuous promotion tool for the producers awarded by The WineHunter Award.
