Arrives in Taranto, from January 5 to 7, 2023 at the Aragonese Castle, the Due Mari WineFest, the great Apulian food and wine fair. Tastings, masterclasses and food and wine stands to fully enjoy the Christmas atmosphere also in the glass, perhaps choosing a wine to give as a gift or to put on the table among the many offerings from the companies.
“Contamination of cultures and territories” is the theme of this edition and is born from the collaboration of the Italian Sommelier Association Puglia – Taranto Delegation. The organization of Due Mari WineFest has in store a series of masterclasses; one, in particular, is dedicated to Albanian wines to underline the closeness between Puglia and Albania, two territories that have found their cultural identity in the Mediterranean. On this occasion, the historical similarities between the Apulian grape varieties Negramaro and Nero di Troia and the Albanian grape varieties: Kallmet, Shesh i zi, Mavrud will be revealed.
There is also room for the Tasting Room where the food companies present will let visitors taste their artisanal products paired with some of the best Apulian companies in the Southern Gallery. In Piazza d’Armi, instead, there will be food companies offering tastings of dishes prepared on the spot. In short, Due Mari WineFest is a great event to discover food-wine pairings for the holidays and current trends, surrounded by the imposing beauty of the Aragonese Castle overlooking the sea below the famous Swing Bridge, the structure connecting the old city island with the mainland and the New Borough.
Due Mari WineFest confirms itself as Taranto’s leading food and wine brand, capable of attracting locals, Apulians, and tourists. It is not simply an event, but a 360-degree cultural project fully integrated into the promotion of the territory and thus part of a broader territorial marketing initiative.
The event is organized by Fabio Romandini, Stefania Ressa and Andrea Romandini in collaboration with the Municipality of Taranto.
