Temakinho, the “},{Nippo-Brazilian restaurant, one of the most well-known and appreciated worldwide, lands in Bologna in the prestigious Palazzo Zambeccari. In the city, it is the first venue of the renowned chain that already boasts numerous locations around the world (5 in Milan, 3 in Rome, 2 in London, and also in Ibiza, Formentera, Verona, Florence, and Modena) and which launched the trend of fusion tropical restaurants in Italy.
In the heart of Bologna at Palazzo Zambeccari, culinary innovation meets history and elegance. This exclusive setting, with eight centuries of history and hosting prestigious artworks by the Carraccis, Brizio, and Samacchini, is now a location dedicated to exclusive shopping and serves as a venue for the city’s cultural and social events.

With a forward-looking choice and an innovative spirit, Palazzo Zambeccari sees this new opening as an exciting opportunity to contribute to the post-lockdown recovery and to enrich the historic center with a new culinary offering. It is the first time the palace has hosted a food format, aware of the growing importance this sector has for Bologna. The dishes at Temakinho are born from the union of Japanese and Brazilian culture: an eclectic fusion that has intrigued diners for years thanks to the innovative use of South American scents and colors blended with the quality of top ingredients. All served in a fresh and contemporary setting, where cuisine meets design and everything is connected—through the decor, scents, and colors.

The culinary fusion specialties of the concept restaurant originated in the early 1900s, following the emigration of numerous Japanese families to Brazil, which today has the largest Japanese community outside Japan. It is from this meeting of cultures that Nikkei cuisine was born, combining the lightness of sushi with the vibrant, tropical ingredients of Brazil. For each city, Temakinho creates a unique themed mood: the Bologna restaurant will showcase the spirit of the Amazon, a temple entirely dedicated to the forces of nature, with an explosion of tribal elements, textures, colors, and designer wallpapers.

Temakinho has always paid great attention to the environment and sustainability: it is the first restaurant chain in the world to have obtained the “Friend of the Sea” certification, thanks to the choice of certified sustainable fish. Furthermore, all restaurants are plastic-free, using fully compostable takeout packaging and offering customers filtered water in glass jugs free of charge.
