An intriguing aroma of fresh red fruit, a soft acidity and a color that seduces: the winery Le Manzane launches the “en rose” version of prosecco, a tribute to life and the desire to start again, but also to lovers. With the new Prosecco DOC Rosé Millesimato Brut, the estate of San Pietro di Feletto (TV) offers the perfect occasion for a toast with your loved one on Valentine’s Day, February 14th.
The new sparkling wine has been on the market since January 2021. 60 thousand bottles produced. “We started distribution and the opinions we’ve received so far have been flattering,” explain Ernesto Balbinot e Silvana Ceschin, owners of the Le Manzane winery – the interest is there, the rosé prosecco is liked.” The reason? “Because it represents the joy of living, it brings a ray of sunshine and a bit of color in this difficult period.”
In the new rosé variant, Glera (88%) meets Pinot Noir (12%). The brief maceration in contact with the skins of the black-skinned grape gives the wine a delicate color and a romantic appearance: a bright Provençal pink with precious powdery reflections. The perlage is fine and persistent; on the nose, notes of rose, wild strawberries, and peach stand out. Creamy, fresh, and balanced with a slightly almond aftertaste, it is a sparkling wine with a pleasant drinkability that wins over. It pairs with dishes that evoke Asian tastes such as sushi and sashimi; for those who prefer Italian and Venetian cuisine, it marries very well with shrimp risotto and is perfect with creamed cod.
The trend seems clear: pink bubbles are destined to grow. The consumption of sparkling wines is increasing, but also of rosé wines, a product that winks at the female clientele but with its versatility is chosen both to celebrate special occasions and for an aperitif at the end of the day. “Even though we are a company rooted in the DOCG territory,” Ernesto and Silvana continue, “we wanted to add this reference to show our collaborators that we are attentive and sensitive to what happens in the market. We decided to meet the requests of our sales force by creating commercial conditions appropriate to consumer needs.”
