The initiative Just Eat aims to support restaurateurs by offering zero commissions for new restaurants that activate digital food delivery and a 25% discount on commissions for over 5,000 partner restaurants most affected by the restrictions related to the Covid.

Following the new national restrictions affecting Italian restaurants, in particular the early closure of on-site dining services at restaurants at 6:00 PM, and capacity limitations, Just Eat the leading app for ordering lunch and dinner online for delivery, and part of Just Eat Takeaway.com, a leader in the food delivery market, is taking the lead to support restaurateurs and assist them in this difficult time by facilitating the activation of the digital food delivery service with the goal of creating continuity in their daily business and earnings.

Just Eat: 25% discount on commissions

For partner restaurants on the platform, dedicated support will be activated for those businesses that use the delivery service through riders delivering with Just Eat and for which a 25% commission discount will be applied, aimed at supporting over 5,000 partner restaurateurs throughout Italy, easing costs and allowing those who cannot use the dining room to serve dinner customers to continue offering their dishes through the platform, delivering them to customers’ homes easily, quickly, and safely.

Just Eat: zero commissions for new restaurants

The benefits package also includes eliminating commissions for all new restaurants that decide to use the digital food delivery and activate on Just Eat to meet customer demand during this period. The zero commission will be extendable and renewable based on the evolution of the situation and will be in effect for a minimum period of 1 month.

Then, the onboarding on the platform will be accelerated, streamlining processes to quickly respond to service activation requests with Just Eat, thus guaranteeing new restaurants faster times to offer the service to their customers.

Just Eat: reduced menu option

In particular, the possibility of being online on Just Eat with one’s own restaurant through a reduced menu will also be encouraged, meaning with a limited number of dishes, designed for activating the delivery service and thereby able to respond to the emergency situation by offering customers the main and most ordered products from their menu.

Contactless Just Eat

In consolidating its commitment, Just Eat also renews to restaurants, riders e consumers important messages and actions for mutual protection, constantly updating informational materials and support initiatives consistently with government developments and contingent needs. To ensure complete safety in home food delivery, washable masks, disinfectant gel, and backpack sprays have also been distributed to all riders, along with specific communications about important hygienic and sanitary measures for home deliveries and guidance on CONTACTLESS, that is, without direct contact, and on respecting distances.

This newly announced initiative today is part of an action plan that is constantly updated to respond promptly and effectively to the changing needs of the market and the socio-economic context related to the Covid.
