Storage tips
Christmas stars are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored for one or two days in an airtight container at room temperature. Avoid refrigerating them, as puff pastry may lose its crispness. If you want to prepare them in advance, you can freeze them before baking. Just roll out, cut, and freeze on a tray. Once hardened, transfer to a food-safe bag and store up to a month. When ready to enjoy, bake them directly from frozen, slightly increasing baking time.
The Christmas Puff Pastry Stars with Hazelnuts are best when freshly made, while the pastry is still nicely crisp, but they keep for 1–2 days in a tin or airtight container. You can customize them with almonds or toasted hazelnuts or add a pinch of cinnamon to the pearl sugar.
They’re the perfect idea to enrich a Christmas menu dessert tray, accompany a cup of tea or hot chocolate, or become a little sweet gift to give. Simple, quick, and visually appealing: one of those recipes that easily become holiday favorites.
