For the first time in its history, the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is organizing a special session focused on what, within a few years, has transformed from a niche phenomenon into a true economic asset, as evidenced by a consumption growth that has increased by almost 40% from 2002 to today, rising from 18 to 26 million hectoliters. Not to forget the fundamental role of the Millennials who seem to find in Rosé wines the perfect answer to their tastes in the beverage world.
A wonderful opportunity for a true journey through hundreds of wine labels from the main producing countries, led, of course, by France, Italy, Spain, and the USA, which alone account for about 75% of global production. The anticipation is inevitable for the event that will bring together, and have tasted by a panel of international experts, hundreds of labels from March 4 to 6, 2021. A challenge that will have, by no accident, L’Aquila as its venue, the capital of Abruzzo, with particular attention to the touristic, cultural, and culinary potential that this splendid region is able to guarantee.
Starting in L’Aquila for a special session that the board of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles has decided to make an annual event, choosing a different region each time.
The “Rosé Selection” of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles is open without discrimination to all still rosé wines, sparkling, semi-sparkling, and fortified. The deadline for registration and sending samples is set for February 18, 2021. In addition to the traditional gold and silver medals, a special trophy will be awarded in the following categories:
- Discovery Still Rosé Wine
- Discovery Sparkling Rosé Wine
- Discovery Semi-Dry Rosé Wine
- Discovery Sweet Rosé Wine
- Discovery Organic Rosé Wine
The competition results will be published on March 11, 2021. For white and red wines, the tasting sessions of the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles will be held from May 22 to 24, 2021. Registrations will be extended until March 18, 2021.
