In Riolo Terme, the productive heart of this marvel for the palate, from July 25 to 28 the Fiera dello Scalogno IGP di Romagna (IGP Shallot Fair of Romagna) will take place. In the town center streets, there will be a market exhibition of the Romagna Shallot, where, throughout all four days, the producers of this delicacy will be present.

Local restaurateurs will be sure to offer dishes featuring shallots, while at Parco Pertini there will be a Pro Loco food stand entirely dedicated to this small bulb, with a rich themed menu. Among the various dishes you will be able to taste: shallot rice, shallot tagliolini, shallot omelet, roast with shallot seasoning. And every evening: music, shows, and entertainment.

Always cultivated in Romagna, in 1992 the Pro Loco of Riolo Terme decided to organize a dedicated festival to promote this typical product of the local tradition, which in 1997 was also awarded IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) status.

The Scalogno IGP di Romagna, which is neither garlic nor onion, is a small bulb that still belongs to the Liliaceae family. A wholly local food and wine delicacy, absolutely unique in the national landscape.
