Attrezzature

Ingredients

  • 200 gr dark chocolate
  • 100 gr fresh cream or a small piece of butter
  • fresh fruit to taste
  • 1/2 juice lemon
  • cubes sponge cake
  • granules hazelnuts or walnuts or almonds
  • liqueur to taste, between brandy, rum, or orange liqueur

Instructions

  • For this recipe, use your favorite fruit (kiwi, tangerines, oranges, bananas, or just one type, e.g., strawberries!... ).
  • Cut everything into pieces (I suggest spraying bananas or apples with lemon juice to prevent browning).

For the fondue

  • For the dark chocolate fondue, break the chocolate into pieces in a small pot, add the cream, and melt either in a double boiler or in the microwave.
  • Mix everything until you get a well melted and blended cream, then remove from heat and flavor by adding a few drops of liqueur, mixing well.
  • Now transfer the fondue into a special bowl and light the candle underneath, in the small burner to keep it warm... arrange it at the center of a large serving plate, where you have already placed the fruit pieces around the edges, the cubes of sponge cake, and the chopped nuts.
  • Then using the provided small forks, skewer a piece of fruit at a time, dip it in the melted chocolate, and enjoy.
  • Next, skewer the cubes of sponge cake, dip them in the chocolate, and roll them in the nuts of your choice, continuing to delight yourself... I love you, chocolate!

Notes

1. Alternatively, you can skewer the pieces with long toothpicks.
2. Use your imagination to discover new pairings with cookies, cat's tongue, cream puffs, waffles, gummy candies, pandoro… and more surprises in taste.
3. For an even more spicy chocolate fondue... add a pinch of chili pepper, but beware... don’t overdo it!
