  • 1 large paper bag
  • 1 Baking paper
  • 1 Wooden spoon
  • 1 measuring cup

Ingredients

  • 4 liters popcorn already popped
  • 200 gr cane sugar
  • 125 gr butter
  • 60 ml corn syrup clear
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda

Instructions

  • Pour the popped popcorn into a large brown paper bag.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, vanilla extract, and salt.
  • Place the bowl in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes on high power.
  • Remove the bowl and mix the mixture well until you obtain a smooth consistency.
  • Place the bowl back in the microwave for another 90 seconds.
  • Remove the bowl from the microwave and add the baking soda, stirring quickly (the mixture will swell slightly).
  • Immediately pour the caramel mixture over the popcorn in the bag.
  • Fold the top of the bag once or twice to close it, then shake vigorously to evenly coat the popcorn.
  • Place the bag in the microwave and cook for 70 seconds.
  • Shake the bag again, turn it upside down and cook for another 70 seconds.
  • Pour the popcorn onto a sheet of baking paper and let it cool for 3-5 minutes, until the caramel coating has hardened.
