Ingredients

  • 500 gr sweet potatoes
  • 100 gr chopped almonds
  • 150 gr sugar
  • 1 nr Lemon grated zest
  • qb Ground cinnamon
  • 500 gr flour
  • 100 gr lard
  • 100 ml extra virgin olive oil
  • qb Powdered sugar for dusting
  • qb Oil for frying

Instructions

  • Cook the sweet potatoes, mash them, and mix with chopped almonds, sugar, lemon zest, and cinnamon to obtain a dense dough.
  • Create a well with the flour, place the lard and oil in the center, knead until you get a uniform dough and let it rest for about 15 minutes.
  • Roll out the dough with a rolling pin and prepare 8 cm diameter discs. Place the filling in the center and fold in half, pressing the edges with the help of a fork to keep them well sealed.
  • Fry the fritters in hot oil until golden, then drain and dust with powdered sugar.
