Ingredients
- 150 gr Almonds
- 150 gr Sultana Raisins
- 1 nr Lemon
- 1 nr Orange
- 4 nr Eggs
- 50 Cl Milk
- 100 gr Breadcrumbs
- 1 bicchierino Brandy
- Some Sugar Cubes
- Candied Fruit
- 30 gr Flour
Instructions
- Peel the almonds and put them in boiling water, chop them and cut the candied fruit into cubes.
- Meanwhile, soak the sultana raisins in warm water to rehydrate.
- Make a dough with flour, sugar, candied fruit, the juice and zest of a lemon, the juice and zest of the orange.
- You need to incorporate everything well so that you get a smooth mixture; then let it rest for a good half hour.
- At this point, add eggs, milk, a shot of brandy, and breadcrumbs to the dough.
- Mix thoroughly to incorporate all these ingredients. Let it rest overnight.
- The next morning, take a cake mold, dust with breadcrumbs, and pour in the prepared mixture.
- Cover with aluminum foil and cook in a bain-marie for about 4 and a half hours.
- After cooking, let it cool slightly and refrigerate.
- When ready to serve, take it out of the fridge, place it on a plate, and garnish with sugar cubes.
